Here are just a few of the ways to help us help cats in Central KY.  If you fill out a Volunteer Signup form online, we can match your interests and skills to a service or committee within SOS Cats!

Help trap cats for t-n-r

An easy way to help us is to learn to set humane traps for the community cats. Once they are safely trapped, they can be transported to a clinic appointment to be spayed/neutered.

Volunteers who help with this service do require special training, so please let us know if this is something you're interested in.

Assist at a spay-neuter clinic

Serve community cats at our spay-neuter clinic!  There are jobs for every level of experience and skill. From helping with laundry to monitoring cats as they wake up from anesthesia, we can always use more 'paws on deck' to help at the clinic!

Volunteers who help with this service do require special training, so please let us know if this is something you're interested in.

Recover cats after spay-neuter

If you have a safe, temperature-controlled space, you could be a great match as a recovery volunteer!  Community cats need a safe, secure place to recover after surgery and a caring volunteer to check on them for normal recovery behaviors.

The space needs to be secure away from other pets, outdoor animals, and small children to keep the cats safe while they are groggy from surgery. Cats can typically be released back to their original location the following morning.

Volunteers who help with this service do require special training, so please let us know if this is something you're interested in.

advocate for SOS Cats

One of the easiest ways to help SOS Cats is to fund-raise and gather donations for the cats and colonies.  If you love networking, social media, or fundraising and event planning, you could be a perfect fit to join one of our committees!
